JUNIATA FIRE DEPARTMENT
AUGUST 4TH, 2010 MEETING NOTES

 President Ed Consbruck called the meeting to order at 9:30 pm.

Absent:  Paul Ishii, Jim Schuyler, Joe Weston.

 Arlene read the treasurer's report. Motion was made to approve the treasurers report and approval to pay the bills by Cindy 
 and Jerry 2nd the motion.  Motion passed.

Chief:  Departmental cap was given to Paul and Jackets were given to Dave, Cindy, and Mark. Congratulations to all!!

Old Business:  
     * Air Packs have been ordered.

Committee Reports:
       
 Building and Rental:    Chuck Wagner & Ed Consbruck
    * None.

Fire Prevention/Preplans:    Evan Wills, Jim Schuyler, Mark Renschler, Jim Shaw
    * Items have been ordered for Fire Prevention week.
  
Recruitment/Retention:  Arlene Karr, Jeff Wills, Dave Fitzke
   * Meet at 8 am on Saturday to get things ready for the Car Show.

Safety  Mark Morgan & Ed Consbruck
   *  none

Training:   Bo Morgan, Jerry Adams, Gary Peisger, Jeff Wills, Cindy Peak
   * Car burn is scheduled for August 31st at the ball field at 6:30 pm.  Regular meeting will follow.

  
 Fund Raiser:  Arlene Karr
   * Car Show is Sunday.. hope to see everyone there!

Emergency Management:  Jeff Wills
    * John would like to thank everyone who assisted in locating a missing 3 year old.

Medical:   Jim Shaw
    * August 9th, St. Francis. Behavioral Emergencies
    * CPR on August 14th.

Rural Board: 
    *  When checking trucks make sure you log any work that needs to be repaired. Whether it is appratus or non appratus.
        Committee Chairpersons responsible in seeing that things get repaired.
    *   Need to get things fastened down on the trucks. Make sure you see what you are attaching it to.

Turn Out Gear:   
    * Check the sheet by the washer to see when you need to wash your gear. Make sure that you mark it off and 
       fill out a new sheet. NEED TO KEEP GEAR CLEAN!!

Chief: 
    * Went to a Mutual Aid meeting recently. Propane generator is being used for back-up now for repeaters, in case the power
       goes out.

Assistant Chief:  
    *  None

Captain: 
    *  New SCBA sheet is up. Make sure that you inspect them monthly. If you should have any questions let Bo know.

President: 
    *  Absent

Vice President: 
    * Nomination sheets ar up for next year's officers. Start thinking about this. Election is in December.

Secretary/Treasurer:  
    * none

 Truck Inspections:
    * Will be completed after the meeting.

New Business:    
    * The tire is fixed on the hand pumper.
    * The Fire Fighter Muesum approached the department about displaying the Hand Pumper in their Muesum for one year.
       Possibly from October to October. They would keep it maintained while it is there. Discussion held. Motion made to send
       the pumper up. Motion passed on a 13 - 2 vote. Will make the necessary arrangements.
